Inspection and Code Enforcement

The Inspection and Code Enforcement Office has one part time employee who functions in the capacity of Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer. The City Clerk provides clerical assistance as necessary. A planning consultant is utilized to assist in reviewing site plans and preparing planning and zoning activity reports. The Inspection Office reports directly to the City Manager.

The Inspection and Code Enforcement Office is responsible for the enforcement of several important chapters of the City's Code of Ordinances including building construction and zoning regulations. Other areas of responsibility include by are not limited t Property Maintenance and Blight- Chapter 7; Garbage and Trash- Chapter 12; Rental Housing-Chapter 13; Junk and other Nuisances- Chapter 18; Junk Yards- Chapter 23; Sidewalks- Chapter 26; Subdivision- Chapter 27; Inoperable Vehicles - Chapter 29; Weed and Brush Control- Chapter 31; and Signs - Zoning Ordinance Section 1310.
