Legal Advisor

The City Attorney, Mr. Thomas Clemons, of Kane, Clemons and Joachim, serves as legal advisor for the City Commission, the City Manager and all City Departments. He represents the City in most lawsuits by or against the City. The City attorney is present at all Commission meetings, and approves the form and content of all ordinances, resolutions,agreements and other official documents of the City.

Other legal services as required are provided by Mr. George Joachim, also of Kane, Clemons and Joachim. Mr. Joachim normally prosecutes the criminal actions initiated by the Police Department. Additional legal services are provided,as needed, by  other attorneys or firms.
