City Cemetery

Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. Woodlawn Cemetery was established in 1856 with a gift of 1.5 acres from Beer B. and Mary Ward. Burial service is provided to residents and funeral homes of the greater Marine City area, averaging 50-60 interments per year. The cemetery is comprised of 14.2 acres containing more than 7,000 graves that require maintenance and individual trimming accomplished by the Department of Public Works in addition to grounds maintenance, the DPW digs and fills new graves, regrades existing graves as necessary, and installs grave marker foundations as needed.
